Responsible Gambling
Gambling should always be an enjoyable form of entertainment, never a source of stress or financial difficulty. If you play Blue Wizard or any other slot game, it is important to set limits, know when to stop, and be aware of the support available if gambling stops being fun.
Set your limits
Before you start a session, decide how much money and time you are willing to spend. Most UK-licensed casinos offer built-in tools to help you manage this, including deposit limits, session time reminders, loss limits and cooling-off periods. Use these tools. They exist because they work.
Never chase losses. If you have reached your budget for the day, stop playing. The outcome of the next spin has no connection to your previous results – slots use random number generators that treat every spin as an independent event.
Warning signs
If any of the following apply to you, it may be time to seek support:
- You are spending more money or time on gambling than you intended.
- You are borrowing money or selling possessions to fund gambling.
- You feel anxious, irritable or restless when you are not gambling.
- You are hiding the extent of your gambling from family or friends.
- Gambling is affecting your work, relationships or daily responsibilities.
Support organisations
GambleAware – Provides free information, advice and support for anyone affected by gambling. Visit gambleaware.org or call the National Gambling Helpline on 0808 802 0133 (freephone, available 24 hours a day).
GamCare – Offers free counselling, advice and support for problem gamblers and their families. Visit gamcare.org.uk or call 0808 802 0133 (shared helpline with GambleAware).
GAMSTOP – The free national self-exclusion scheme. Registering with GAMSTOP prevents you from accessing all UKGC-licensed online gambling sites for a period of your choosing (6 months, 1 year or 5 years). Visit gamstop.co.uk to register.
Self-exclusion at individual casinos
Every UK-licensed casino is required to offer a self-exclusion option. If you want to block yourself from a specific site, contact that casino’s customer support or look for the self-exclusion option in your account settings. This is separate from GAMSTOP and applies only to that individual operator.
If you or someone you know is struggling with gambling, please reach out to any of the organisations listed above. Help is free, confidential and available around the clock.
